Artists Statement:

I grew up in a quiet village along the Acadian Coastal line, surrounded by nature - forests, orchards, gardens, and of course bugs and insects. As child, to keep me from having idle time, mygrandmother taught me how to cut fabric from templates. My grandmother specified the importance of drawing, cutting and keeping a straight line, while my mother taught me arts & crafts, and sketching. During my adolescence, in Montreal my creativity was further enhanced by the rest of the world - Spirituality, Goth culture, grunge, Art Nouveau, comics, photographs, fashion and Pop art. One of the key elements of my work is the use of black, it is mysterious yet comforting. Inspired from my grandmothers velvet quilts and pillows. I studied graphic design, figure and technical drawing, pre-press production, colour theory and fashion Illustration at the Rosemont Technology Centre, and at the Academie Internationale de la Mode et du Design in Montreal during the mid 1990's. Typically I create both textured and flat, smooth paintings delineated by black flowing lines, saturated with bright colours. I see everyday life as an illustration and recreate it in animated pieces. I depict people, plants, and natures creatures. I create dreams on canvas, bright attention-grabbing art. I create dreams on canvas, bright attention-grabbing art.
